Have you ever found yourself waiting for the perfect moment to start something new? Maybe you're waiting until you lose a few pounds to start exercising or until you have all the tools you need to start a new project.
It's easy to fall into the trap of waiting for the perfect moment, but the truth is, there's never a perfect time. The perfect time is right now.
I launched my new online programme this week, and it was a big step out of my comfort zone. I had to learn how to use a new online portal, figure out the tech, and record videos. I wanted everything to be perfect, but I realised that my message and my desire to help women be the best version of themselves was more important than my need to be perfect.
How many times have you put off starting something because you didn't feel ready or prepared enough? It's easy to fall into the trap of waiting until everything is just right, but that day may never come. Sometimes you just have to take the leap and trust that everything will fall into place.
In my yoga classes, I often hear women say that they can't do certain postures because they're not flexible enough or strong enough. But the truth is, all bodies are different, and we're all different on different days. Some days we're more balanced or stronger than others. The key is to listen to your body and come at it with beginner's eyes. As the saying goes, "Yoga isn't about touching your toes, it's about what you learn on the way down."
So, if you've been putting off starting something new, whether it's a new exercise routine, a new project, or something else entirely, remember that there's never a perfect time. Step out of your comfort zone and trust that everything will fall into place. You may just surprise yourself with what you're capable of.
ZEST ENERGY TIP What have you been putting off recently that is causing you stress or irritation? There's an old saying that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that it's probably the worst thing you'll do all day. Using 'eat that frog' as a metaphor for tackling the most challenging task of your day - the one you are most likely to procrastinate on, but also probably the one that can have the greatest positive impact on your life - Eat That Frog! is a great book by Brian Tracy that shows you how to zero in on these critical tasks and organise your day. You'll not only get more done faster, but get the right things done.
